Domaine des Carlines, La Vouivre 2022

Domaine des Carlines is a small, organic-farmed estate located in Menétru-Le-Vignoble in the Jura region of France. Led by wine-grower Patrick Ligeron, the vineyard spans 11 ha (including parcels within the prestigious Château-Châlon area) and focuses on expressive, terroir-driven wines from Jura’s limestone and marl soils using spontaneous fermentation and old-wood ageing. Sustainability underpins the estate’s ethos. Composed of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Savagnin, the wine spent 18 months in seasoned Burgundy barrels. A pale gold-tinged hue introduces aromas of green apple, white blossom and ginger spice. On the palate there’s a textured core of pear and nut-skin, fine chalky minerality and a gently savoury finish with hints of walnut and subtle oxidative character. A refined, distinctive Jura white with poise and depth.
